No news is good news?

It has been a few weeks now since I've heard from the community college (after repeated messages), concerning incorporating my house’s restoration into their spring quarter curriculum. Their spring quarter starts around the first week in April, so there is time to iron out the details.

I wrote up and submitted a small list on what I'll be working on, anything from siding replacement, redesigning the porches, interior work such as trim, casements and moldings and flooring, to replacement of a large bathroom. More for my own benefit than theirs.

But we’ll see in the next few weeks where it goes. Maybe the offer was too good to be true…

As a community college faculty member, I honestly recommend that you go ahead and contact them again to see where things stand. Things can get pretty nuts sometimes, and they may have simply forgotten to keep you in the loop - or they may have just not had the time to make their final decisions yet.

I second Leslie's comment. I'd call them asap and try to pin down some details.

Good luck -- what a fantastic opportunity!

Woodpeckers are our nemesis early in the season, we have metal tie off clips on the top of our house for doing roof work and the woodpeckers tap tap tap away on that at all hours of the day and night, from inside it sounds like someone is jackhammering our walls. I know they attract mates by making as loud a noise as possible, but they will find no takers here!

Super soaking the woodpecker, that is hysterical! There is actually a woodpecker repellent hole filler that tastes bad so supposedly they don't come back. Someone also mentioned using shiny mylar tape to scare them away also. Good luck!
